Having gained 20 years’ experience in the millinery industry, Carmi Hatters was revived by Daloo Mistry and his three sons in 1974. Together with four employees, they manufactured and supplied ladies’ fashion hats to local retailers.

His son, Arun, grew the business by increasing the product range, introducing men’s hats, golf hats, safari hats and uniform hats. He expanded the factory capacity and began supplying hats to other centres and eventually won a tender bid in 2001.

Arun’s nephew, Jitesh Mistry joined Carmi Hatters and is now Chief Operating Officer. Jitesh’s mandate is to take Carmi Hatters to new heights.

The Carmi Hatters family has grown from four staff to our current complement of 72. Our production has grown in parallel and we currently manufacture thousands of hats a year.
